In September 2024 we took our Triumph TR3 Race Car to the Vintage Triumph Register week-long national meet at Brown County State Park outside of Nashville, Indiana, where nearly 200 of the nicest Triumphs in the USA participated (see slide show of some cars that participated).

With a lot of shop hours during August, we were able to resurrect our 42-year-old TR3 mechanically in order to successfully compete in the autocross at a nearby airport runway.

What was important to me is that 7 months after acquiring the car (on February 1, 2024), the car competed in its first speed event since April 21, 1988 – 36 years and 5 months of slumber ended!

We drove to a 3rd place autocross finish in our class, and I was happy to drive the car onto the trailer after 3 runs on the autocross course – quite an accomplishment in 7 short months to bring the car from 36 years of slumber to autocross competition!
