At the invitation of our daughter, whose employer was sponsoring the event, we packed up our 1951 Crosley Pickup “Dairy Express” Truck in late September 2024 and attended the First Annual Howdy’s “Love Columbia” Car Show in Columbia, MO.
All proceeds from this show go to repairing donated automobiles, which in turn provide low-cost reliable vehicles for low-income working families in need of reliable transportation – a great and much needed service!
The weather was good and so was the turnout with nearly 100 entries. Live music and onsite food trucks kept attendees and participants fed and entertained.
We entertained the crowd foot traffic by offering kids in attendance the chance to honk the Crosley’s horn and/or spin the front bumper spinner. At one point there was even a line to do them!
The little Crosley was a big hit as we garnered the People’s Choice trophy and ended the day with some classic Shakespeare’s Pizza, a Columbia, MO landmark.
We look forward to attending this show again in 2025!
