Flashback Racing’s website theme is“Everything Old is New Again!” In accordance with our theme, we decided in March to relaunch the Flashback Racing brand by attending the South Central Vintage Triumph Register (SCVTR) regional event in St. Louis from May 30 – June 1 as a vendor offering our remaining inventory of cultured marble Triumph collectibles.

This – along with deciding to bring my 42-year-old Triumph TR3 race car back to life for the show – was a big assignment. We had inventory remaining of our cultured marble coasters/tiles, our history of Triumph motor cars cultured marble plaque and accompanying poster/legend, but we didn’t have much to bring attention to our vendor booth. So over the course of 8 weeks we designed, created, and printed business cards, booth display materials, a logo table skirt, and even some logo sportswear to relaunch Flashback Racing as a trusted vendor and source of information for British motor cars – especially our beloved Triumphs.

The day of departure for the VTR regional meet, mechanical troubles with the race car delayed our scheduled departure by 5 hours, effectively shortening our attendance by one day. (See our “An Ambitious Race Car Project” post for all the frustrating details.) But we managed to arrive with 10 minutes to spare for the first day of registration and were able to unload our inventory in preparation for the second day of the meet. Whew!

Once set up early the morning of the second day, our booth looked great, and our collectibles garnered a lot of interest from this group of avid Triumph enthusiasts. It also provided us with an opportunity to make wonderful new friends as well as reconnect with our Triumph friends from years ago.

Our total sales combined with the cumulative “fun” quotient were enough for Flashback Racing to enter the Vintage Triumph Register (VTR) 2024 National Event scheduled for Nashville, Indiana, from September 8-12 as a vendor. We hope to see you there!
